January and February 2011

This was a very busy month for me. Grandma(father side) is having issues with the renewal of the stalls she owned in the market.She was a pork dealer when she was younger.Since she can longer sell and stay in the market longer she let her helper to take over the place for as long as monthly expenses will be paid accordingly. However,the lady which is unfortunately our Ninang in our wedding (helper of my Grandma) have intentions to get ownership of the business. To cut it short, she want the stalls of my grandma badly. Since we cant renew the stalls without her personal appearance she fly from New Jersey to Manila on the first week of February. Until now at this very day we are still having problems with the renewal because my Ninang is making up stories and she still have debts to my Grandma. Its been two weeks and we haven't finish anything. We discover more about her intentions to get the stalls ownership from us. I feel bad and angry because we never imagine that she is that MONSTER inside. Nevertheless, I pray and ask the Almighty to give as light in this journey and may the truth reveals soon. Tomorrow we will coordinate with the Master Market and hopefully we will resolve the issue and renew the contract.

Catching up Part 1

Its been quite some time since I posted something in my blog. OMG! It is almost a year. I got occupied from work to being a Mom and Wife. Summarizing it up, I would just highlight those significant moments.

April 2010- Hubby resigned on his job because there is a good offer from a different company which is well-known. We had a hard time with the baby sitter this was frustrating month for me.

May 2010- Me and my hubby was struggling because we cant find a significant others to take care of our son. This was the time when we already started to talk about me resigning on my job.

June 2010- Chase 1st Birthday was held at Jollibee. We had a great time except that we lost so many stuff including Chase birthday outfit(superman costume), Sony camera, 10 thousand pesos, my brand new laptop, victoria secret make up kit( that was the first time that i used it), my super favourite silver stilleto(that i did

nt even wear during the party)and a whole lot more. Happy and Sad.

July 2010- I quit my job for Chase. Last month of work and stress from all those angry customers.

August 2010- On the second day of this month it was effective that I am no longer employed but rather I AM A FULL PLEDGE MOM AND WIFE.

September- Hubby again transferred to a new company. I had difficulties adjusting I miss work. I cant managed my time doing the chores and watching over Chase.

December 2010- Sometimes I felt boredom but then I realized what was I thinking I had a lot of time spending and bonding with my son.

Last MArch 23, Nanay Yolly our grandmother,mother of my father ,arrived from New Jersey.
Whenever she got home it is always expected that we will celebrate and eat super heavy meals.One of our favorite Restaurant is Tong yang.The reason for the craving is,it is a shabu-shabu style restaurant and we simply love the fact of getting all the dish we love to
eat and cook it at our own style.I also love the eat all you can desert specially the mocha flavored ice cream.We arrived almost past 7 in the evening and left around 10.Hubby and I together with Alaine's Family and Nanay Yolly enjoyed the sumptuous meal.We all went home with a very happy stomach. We went home straight and since Chase, Cassie and
Monic is already sleepy.When we got home I had a hard time sleeping, then,I realized that I
ate a quarter plate of bacon with bellpeppers and onion stuff,squid,shrimp,chicken,salmon,tuna, a whole lot of broccholi and cauliflower and two cups of mocha flavoured ice-cream with 4
full scoops on each cup. We had so much fun and we were all got home with a full stomach.

September is the start of the christmas season. Most of us get excited because this month signals the start of the happiest season for most of us, Filipinos, including those from around the world. Christmas shopping list, decorations , lanterns, and gifts. But let us not ignore that the true meaning of christmas is rejoicing for the birthday of our Lord,our saviour Jesus Christ.

Whenever Christmas is near, the feeling of excitement never leaves my senses. It is because of the get- together,family reunion, siestas with friends and a lot of stuffs that fulfills my child-like feeling during christmas season. This year for me will be the so much exciting because this is the FIRST Christmas that we (me and my Hubby)will celebrate as husband and wife with our very OWN( baby CHASE XEDRIC). Chase will be 6 months old by then,i love to imagine how are we going to celebrate it. HMmmm, we do have several plans but still it should stick to one goal to celebrate with lots of laughters and love so that Chase will grow with TCL ( tender loving care).Of course, gifts will not go out of the scene. (hahaha). Anyways, I am excited and i cannot wait till that day comes.

How to perform a cold boot on a Digital Satellite System (DSS) receiver?

1. Turn off the DSS receiver.
2. Unplug the power cord of the DSS receiver from the AC electrical outlet.
3. Remove the DSS coaxial cable from the SATELLITE IN jack.
4. Remove the VHF/UHF coaxial cable from the VHF/UHF IN jack.
5. Remove the telephone cord from the TEL IN jack.
6.Remove the Access Card from the DSS receiver.
7. On the Access Card , clean the gold contact using a soft cloth or pencil eraser.
8. Reinsert the Access Card into the DSS receiver.
9. Plug the telephone cord back into the TEL IN jack.
10. Reconnect the VHF/UHF coaxial cable to the VHF/UHF IN jack.
11. Plug the power cord of the DSS receiver back into the AC electrical outlet.
12. Turn on the DSS receiver.
13. Wait one minute and then turn off the DSS receiver.

How to run the System Restore or Startup Repair feature when the operating system will not start?

The Windows Vista operating system provides a recovery environment which can allow you to use the System Restore, Startup Repair, Command Prompt, Windows Memory Diagnostics or Complete PC Restore feature when the operating system will not boot.

IMPORTANT: This option is available on most VAIO computers, but not all. If the Repair Your Computer option in not available in step 3, this procedure is not supported on your computer model.

1. Turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and then at the VAIO screen, press the F8 key.
3. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, verify Repair Your Computer is selected and then press the Enter key.
4. In the System Recovery Options window, click the Next button.
5. Next to User name:, click the down arrow, and then click to select an account with Administrator rights.
6. Next to Password:, type the appropriate password for the account selected and then click the OK button.
7. In the Choose a recovery tool window, click to select the appropriate option below:

Startup Repair can automatically resolve certain issues that can prevent the operating system from starting.

Windows Complete PC Restore will restore a previous backup of the computer created using the Windows Backup and Restore Center

Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool can determine if any problems being experienced are caused by issues with the computer's memory.

Command Prompt can be used by advanced users and technical support personnel to perform troubleshooting on the hard drive or the operating system.

VAIO Recovery Center will launch the VAIO Recovery Center application.

Follow this procedure to detect and repair errors on the hard drive using the Check Disk utility in the Windows® 2000 Professional operating system.

1. Click the Start button, point to Programs , point to Accessories , and then click Windows Explorer .
2.In the My Computer window, in the left pane , double-click My Computer .
3. Under My Computer , click to select the drive to check for errors.
4. On the menu bar , click File .
5. On the File menu, click Properties .
6. In the Local Disk Properties window, click the Tools tab.
7.. On the Tools tab, in the Error-checking box, click the Check Now button.
8. In the Check Disk window, in the Check disk options box, click to select the Automatically fix file system errors box.

NOTE: Click to select the Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors box to physically examine the hard drive and ensure that the disk has not been damaged. The duration of the test with this option selected varies according to the size of the hard drive examined and may require several hours to complete.

9. In the Check Disk window, click the Start button.
10. In the Checking Disk box, click the Yes button.
11. Restart the computer.

NOTE: The disk check will be performed automatically when the system restarts.

Computer Hangs During Shutdown with USB Legacy Support Enabled in the BIOS

SYMPTOMS
Your computer may stop responding (hang) during the shutdown process if Universal Serial Bus (USB) legacy support is enabled in the computer's basic input/output system (BIOS), and if the USB host controller resources that are assigned by Windows differ from those that are designated in the BIOS.

CAUSE
Windows sets the USB host controller to legacy support mode during the shutdown process, but cannot restore the BIOS-designated resource settings. If the current input/output (I/O) port settings differ from the BIOS settings, the device is inaccessible and causes the computer to hang.

RESOLUTION
Although your computer's BIOS may include an option to disable USB legacy support, doing so may cause additional problems. Note that USB input devices, such as a keyboard or mouse, require USB legacy emulation to work correctly in Real mode (MS-DOS) and Safe mode. For additional information, see the "References" section of this article. As an alternative, you can configure the USB host controller's resource settings to match those that are assigned by the BIOS.

Setting the USB Host Controller to Use the BIOS Setting

1. Refer to your computer's documentation for information about how to obtain the device settings from your computer's BIOS.
2. Follow the steps in the "Viewing the USB Host Controller Settings" section of this article.
3. To disable automatic settings, clear the Use automatic settings check box, if it is not already cleared.
4. Click the Input/Output Range resource, and then click Change Setting.

Next week, 27th of August will be my 23rd birthday and I plan to celebrate the day with my loved ones and some of my closest friends. I can say that this year for me is not that good however as the saying goes in every storm there is always a rainbow afterwards. In the past few months I’ve been through difficulties in life. I can say that I am blessed and I am very thankful to those people that supported me and help me get through with the things that give pain and hardship. I realized that those people whom you don’t know nor even connected to you are those that will give me comfort and embrace my whole self. Never I felt that I am alone thanks to my Hubby! You take care of me when I was away from home, your mom, dad and your sister and even your nephew that will give sudden laughers to me. I am so glad that you stood by side me in times that I needed you the most. You have been a friend to me, my best buddy, my partner and my better half. And as I will celebrate my 23rd year I will be thankful to our Lord God because he will give me another chance to live in this life I borrow from HIM. Praise and Glory to you, My Lord!

Its been two rainy days here in my country. I love it when it rain but i my heart melts when there are people that will lose their homes.

How to Reformat A Hard Disc Drive(HDD)/ Hard Drive?

Follow this procedure to reformat the hard drive. It is easy to follow!

WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. This procedure will remove all software and data from the hard drive.

1. Place the System Recovery CD #1 into the CD/DVD drive.
2. Turn off the computer.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. At the System Recovery CD screen, press the C key.
5. Repartition the hard drive .
6. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE .
7. At the Welcome screen, press the C key.
8. At the C:\> prompt, type FORMAT C: and then press the ENTER key.
9. When finished formatting, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE .
10. At the Welcome screen, press the O key.
11. At the MAIN MENU screen, press the 2 key to select Full Restore without Format .
12. At the Full Restore without Format screen, Press the Y key.

1. Ensure the optical and floppy drives are empty and all external devices have been disconnected.
2. Reset the computers BIOS to the default values. On the Boot tab ensure that the Hard Disk Drive option is selected.
3. Restart the computer.
4. The hard drive may not be connected properly. If possible, ensure the ribbon cable from the hard drive to the motherboard is firmly seated.
5. Ensure the hard drive is set to the Master position.

NOTES:

a. The hard drive label will state which jumpers are needed to set the drive settings.
b. If the computer has a Serial ATA drive, there is not a Master setting. Ensure the Serial ATA and power cables are properly connected.

6. Restart the computer.
7. Perform a system recovery.
8. If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, replacement of the hard drive will be required.

*** Before purchasing an (i. Link or Firewire) IEEE1394 cable consult first the video camcorder and computer manufacturer about the pin connectors of the products. There are two types of IEEE1394 cable, 4 to 4 and 4 to 6 pins. Make sure that the computer also has a DV interface port for the connection.

Step 1: Connect the DV camera to your computer
Step 2: Import the analog video to your computer.

i. Insert the tape on the video camcorder and then set the camcorder to VCR, VTR or play mode. ii. Turn on the camcorder. Make sure that the camcorder is on play mode.

iii. On your computer, an Autoplay Window will appear on the computer screen. Click on Import Video using Windows Import Video. In the Name box rename the video file.

iv. From the Import to list, choose a location where you want to save your video file or files or you may browse the destination folder to change the location folder. In the Format list, choose one of the following video file formats for the new video file, and then click Next

v. If you want to create a single file using the file type that your DV camera uses by default, such as a DV-AVI file, choose Audio Video Interleaved (single file). If you want to create a single Windows Media Video (WMV) file containing all of the information on the video tape, choose Windows Media Video File (single file). If you want to create a WMV file for every scene on the videotape, choose Windows Media Video (one file per scene).

vi. Click Only import parts of the videotape to my computer, and then click Next vii. Cue the video and play video. On the Cue the videotape and then start importing video page, click Start Video Import.

viii. If you want to stop the importing of the video, click Stop Video Import. Stop the video on the camcorder.

ix. When done importing video on computer, click Finish.

x. Imported videos will be saved on Windows Photo Gallery.

Can still pictures that were recorded on a tape using the PHOTO button be transferred to a computer? This is the exact question that I have in mind when I was trying to explore my old camcorder in an apple computer. At first, I was so confused if this is possible or if it will work. Through keen researched and exploration, I finally found the answer regarding this technical question and I want to share it with you, my beloved readers.

When taking a still picture using the PHOTO button on the camcorder, the camcorder saves a 5-7 second still image video clip on the tape while the audio continues to record. When the tape is played back, these images will display like a slide show with the accompanied audio. These still image video clips can be transferred to a computer and saved with or without the audio by using video capture software such as Sony DVgate Plus, Microsoft Windows Movie Maker, or Apple Macintosh i.Movie.

To save the still image video clips to a computer with the audio as a movie file (MPEG, AVI, etc.), follow the same procedures for the capture software as you would to capture moving video and to save the still image video clips to a computer without the audio as a still image file (JPEG, BMP, etc.), use the still image capture abilities of the capture software.

NOTE *** It is very important that the DVD is finalized before starting the procedure. Unfinalized disc may cause damage to the file recorded on the DVD. Refer to the instructions manual of the camcorder on how to finalize a disc using the camcorder. If the DVD-ROM drive does not support the mini disc (8cm disc) do not use a 8cm CD Adapter that may cause malfunction. If the computer doesn’t support the 8 cm DVD disc you may try to use the USB Transfer steps.
1. Finalize the disc on the camcorder.
2. Insert the camcorder DVD into a computer DVD-ROM drive.
3. On the computer desktop, click the Start button and then click My Computer. If available, you can open the My Computer icon on the desktop instead.
4. In the My Computer window, right-click the DVD Drive icon, then click Open.
5. Right-click the appropriate folder and then click Copy. For still images, right-click the DCIM folder. For movie files, right-click the VIDEO_TS folder.
6. Right-click on the desktop and then click Paste. The folder and all the contents in the folder will be copied to the desktop of the computer.
7. On the computer desktop, right-click the newly copied folder and then click Rename.
